As per the increased demand for oils and fuels all over the world, it is essential to meet the production demands.To get an adequate amount of fuels and gases, many refineries are set. These refineries are industrial sites where the manufacturing of oils takes place. Basically, there are four types of oil refineries including hydro-skimming, topping refinery, modular refinery, cracking refineries.

Modular refineries – These refineries are based on the skid-mounted module. Each and every structure of the module is connected to each other via pipelines. The major components of this type of refinery include hydro-treater units, units of catalytic reforming, hydrocracker units, units of vacuum distillation, etc. This refinery is much more cost-effective than the conventional refineries.
Hydro-skimming refinery – In this type of refinery, there are several additional units used that make it a far better option than other refineries. Processes like hydrotreating and hydro-cracking make it more capable to produce oil and gases. Also, you can get by-products like hydrogen and naphtha. This refinery also includes the process of atmospheric distillation, different treating processes, naphtha reforming, etc.
Cracking refineries – These are also termed conversion refineries. These are equipped with all the units that topping and hydro-skimming refineries have. The oils that are produced by this refinery are less weighted. The less weight oil and gases are environmentally friendly as well as more profitable. There are also some additional units such as Olefin conversion and coking units. Such additional plants make it worthwhile and profitable.
